After the madness of Christmas and New Year there is another event to celebrate in our house, Little Miss’ birthday. Since she was old enough to tell us what she wants each year I ask her what the theme will be and this year it’s Starwars, a little bit different to last year’s unicorn choice.
I am not a big fan of Starwars but daddy’s indoctrination has been successful and they happily watch the movies together, while I find something else to do.
As her birthday is a school day we are allowed to take in a cake/cakes for her classmates and after scrolling through Pinterest together Little Miss requested some Stormtrooper cupcakes, so the baking begins…
With some close family members being gluten intolerant our house only has gluten free flour so it’s always a bit of a gamble to see how a regular recipe will turn out. Today I used a chocolate cupcake recipe that’s been a hit before and it didn’t disappoint, so give it a whirl sometime.
Until I was adding items to my online shopping list I didn’t realise there were marshmallows that are gluten and dairy free but appears there are, so they were added to the basket and I enjoyed doodling with an edible ink pen while I had a glass of wine.
After whipping up some butter cream to stick my stormtroopers to the cupcakes I was happy with the first birthday bake mission, so hope the classmates at school like them!
