…be kind! Today, November 13th, is World Kindness Day and given the strange year we have had so far due to COVID-19 we should make an extra effort to be kind.
What is World Kindness Day? It all started in 1998 to promote the importance of being kind to others, the world and ourselves.
So take a moment to share some kindness today, sometimes the smallest gestures go a long way…Little Miss just text daddy saying “I love you” and he is only downstairs as he has been working from home since March and we called Grandma to say “hello” before she started work.
If you need some inspiration here are some fun ideas from Random Acts of Kindness Org:
♡Compliment the first three people you talk to.
♡Buy someone else a coffee when you go to get your caffeine fix.
♡Say good morning to the next person you see.
♡Pick up litter. Spend 10 minutes cleaning a park or your neighborhood.
♡Place uplifting notes in library books, on restroom mirrors, on someone’s locker, or on their computer screen.
♡Dedicate 24 hours to spreading positivity on social media.
♡Let that person trying to squeeze in front of you on the road and give them a smile and a wave
♡Leave a generous tip.
♡Set an alarm to go off three times on World Kindness Day. When the alarm sounds, stop what you’re doing a call/text/email someone simply to tell them how awesome they are.
In an ideal world we shouldn’t need to be reminded to be kind, however at times life takes over and we never get round to making that call to a relative or friend, we are too busy thinking about the chores to be done to smile and greet the staff in the stores and we put too much pressure on ourselves and others, so take a moment and start by being kind to yourself as you can’t pour from an empty cup.
