Be Happy!

Today, March 20th, is International Day of Happiness, so I wanted to take the opportunity to share some of the things that make me happy and of course encourage you to think about the things that bring a smile to your face and joy to your life.

The day is “celebrated worldwide every March 20, and was conceptualized and founded by philanthropist, activist, statesman, and prominent United Nations special advisor Jayme Illien to inspire, mobilize, and advance the global happiness movement.” (Source: Wikipedia)

This year the theme is “Happier Together, focusing on what we have in common, rather than what divides us.” (Source: http://www.dayofhappiness.net), which given the recent horrors we have read or heard in the news about people being killed or hurt because they are different I think the theme is very timely. In an ideal world people should focus on seeing the best in others and looking to live in harmony on this fragile Earth of ours.

So, back to the purpose of this post, let us think happy thoughts! The things that make me happiest are the special people in my life, my OH and Little Miss, of course my family and friends also make me happy and I would be lost without them all. Here are some of the other things that make me happy, if you’ve read any of my other posts I am sure you can guess what some of them are…

My Little Miss and her shared love of Japan.

My fur baby, rain or shine we are out enjoying the outdoors.

My latest passion, clay shooting and finally having a shotgun of my own.

Finding joy in ikebana (Japanese flower arranging).

Indulging in the finer things in life, I love bubbles!

Rainbows and the English countryside.

Homemade treats, especially when Little Miss and I make them together.

Cherry blossoms or any flower, they always bring colour and joy to even a grey day.

What makes you happy?

Of course I would encourage everyday to be a day of happiness and for us all to seek out something to make us smile.
